HEAD WOMEN’S TENNIS COACH


The SUNY Geneseo Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation, a part of the Division of Student and Campus Life, seeks qualified candidates for the position of Head Women’s Tennis Coach.


This part-time, 10 month position will coordinate and oversee all aspects of the highly success women’s tennis program. The anticipated annual salary range is $12,000 - $14,000. The selected candidate is responsible for administering all aspects of the program with specific duties including but not limited to: effective recruitment and retention of qualified student-athletes; individual skill development of student-athletes; scheduling; budget preparation and management; participation in department fundraising, community service, and alumni engagement efforts; monitoring academic performance; and related work as required. The head coach is also expected to adhere to all NCAA, SUNYAC and SUNY Geneseo rules and regulations. 


Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree; prior coaching or professional tennis experience. Must demonstrate commitment to diversity and inclusion as well as the ability to establish and maintain positive learning environments for students and collaborative relationships with colleagues.


Preferred qualifications: Master's degree; minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience at the collegiate level or equivalent; demonstrated ability to recruit and retain student-athletes who are committed to academic and athletic excellence; experience with fundraising and/or alumni relations. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal, organizational, and written/oral communication skills as well as demonstrated success as an assistant or head coach at the collegiate level.
